Homeopathy is a system of medicine which involves treating the individual with highly diluted substances, given mainly in tablet form, with the aim of triggering the body’s natural system of healing. Based on their specific symptoms, a homeopath will match the most appropriate medicine to each patient.

It was created by the German physician Samuel Hahnemann during the XVIII century based on the principle that like cures like, first observed in ancient Greece by Hippocrates, known as the father of medicine.

As a holistic system of healing, all aspects of your wellbeing will be assessed during the homeopathic consultation, including your physical, mental and emotional symptoms. How you feel, your personality and how you respond to the environment are important too. All these factors are considered by your homeopath in finding the right remedy for you.

Homeopathic remedies are made from animal, vegetal and mineral sources, for example: Apis mellifica homeopathic remedy is made from the honey bee, Natrum muriaticum is made from salt (sodium chloride), and Calendula officinalis (marigold) is made from a plant. This remedies are administered in very small doses, capable of stimulating the body self healing process. In other words, the homeopathic remedy does not act primarily on molecular basis, but it stimulates the body natural ability to heal.

The whole, individual and gentle approach of homeopathy is safe and commonly used in all ages, from pregnancy to elderly years, and also can be applied to a wide range of complaints including acute illnesses such as colds, fevers and wounds, muscle strains and also chronic issues such as depression, arthritis, eczema, cancer among others.

During a homeopathic consultation, your homeopath will explore all your complaints in depth and also access in detail information about everything that you are willing to share related to how you feel physically and emotionally. Since homeopathy is a holistic therapy; it is the homeopath’s job to understand your health and wellbeing as whole and then find the remedy that best matches the whole picture. Usually, the first consultation takes around 90 minutes, and follow ups around 45 minutes, taking place in about every 3 to 4 weeks, depending on the case.
