Homeopathy Rescue for Overindulging

Well, Christmas is jut over, New Year’s eve few days ahead, Boxing Day for some of us today and in between very likely  that probably we ate and/or drink too much, right?

You might feel that your digestion is not handling the feast as well as you wish, or perhaps that second bottle of wine triggered a bit of a migraine, all together with lack of energy.

Hang in there fellas! A bit of homeopathy is always handy in this circumstances, and here I want to share with you a couple of remedies that I find the most useful in this situations. They are often part of most of Homeopathic First Aid Kits, and also easily available on stores that sell homeopathy: Nux Vomica and Pulsatilla.

Nux Vomica: is one of the major remedies for hangover and indigestion. It covers symptoms such headaches, aversion to light and noise, and digestive issues (full, bloated, pain) after overeating or overindulging spicy foods, alcohol, caffeine and tobacco, anything that can be stimulant. Another peculiar symptom of Nux vomica is the feeling that if you could only vomit you would be so much better.

Pulsatilla: for the digestive issues occurring after overindulging rich food, cakes, pastry and fatty meat (especially pork) Pulsatilla is indicated. Unlike Nux Vomica that feels full and bloated, wishing that could vomit, Pusatilla feels an “all-gone” sensation on the stomach. Pulsatilla is also prone to have loose yellow-greenish stools after overeating.

In addition to the homeopathic remedies suggested to relief the symptoms of overeating and overindulging, a light diet on the following day, perhaps based on green juices, smoothies and veggie soups is always welcome to support recovery.

Happy Recovery!
